My falcon cool way pipe with a concoction of pipe tobaccos. 50% gawith hogarth sliced brown twist, 25% gawith hogarth curly cut and 25% samuel gawith squadron leader. Makes for a nice medium to full strength smoke. The squadron leader on its own is quite tame strength wise hence mixing in the sliced brown.

Some Cavendish I made a couple years ago, mostly VA with an unknown quantity of burley in it. I was not a fan of it then, but a couple years in a jar have improved it quite a bit.


Edit: Holy Toledo. Either this stuff has a huge nicotine kick, or my tolerance has decreased remarkably in the past few days. Half a bowl and I’m getting light headed. Oof. Time to take a break.

I bought a few tins of this year's red flake, haven't tried it yet... any impressions of it so far? Very nice pipe, love a stacked billiard!

Thanks! Stacks are quickly becoming a favorite shape of mine. The five different Virginia's are upfront with a sweet and tangy flavor and then the perique rounds it off with a kick in the last half of the bowl. You can tell that the Virginia's in this blend are already nicely aged. It's excellent fresh, but in 5 - 8 years this blend will be absolutely spectacular. If C&D continues with this line of blends, I'm going to double my order next year.

That sounds excellent! I have a 2'x4' shelf unit that my jars of tobacco sit on (holds about 70-80 jars)... I'm trying not to open any more tins until I go through what I have out... although as I type this that sounds like a stupid idea, as i have about 2 dozen jars not on the shelves anyways... I'm going to have to open a tin of this year's soon! And I'll need to build a bigger shelf system!

Cornell & Diehl Carolina Red Flake with Perique. The perique is a little peppery while the sweetness of the virginias is mostly a darker sort of caramelized/toasted sugar note. Very smooth, well balanced, and subtle.

I received a new Don Carlos from lepipe.it in the beginning of August, my first brand new pipe since 2007. In the mean time, I got into the estate market and have added several excellent estates to my collection.



I finally put flame to it tonight. I first coated the bowl with a thin coating of molasses and let it dry. First smoke was a bowl of Rattray's Dark Fragrant. Excellent smoking qualities: Cool, dry, flavor came through nicely, excellent air flow. I'm babying it to make sure I get a good break-in. It's been a while.

Today is one of the greatest days in Greek History. As today back in 1940 Greek soldiers, Constables and EON Youth stand-fight-win against the invaders to our country: Fascist army of Mussolini and Cham albanians.





I am smoking Black & Elegant Vanilla and at dinner i will raise a glass of wine to the memory of innocent victims (from bombards-executions) ,members of the Resistance and the fallen countrymen in battlefield.

Something i forgot to add in my previous post about ''OXI'' the ''NO day'' 1940 anniversary. Our Presidential Guards in the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier based on the ceremonial formation, at some point while changing shift with the bodies and rifles (necessarily with bayonets on top) they form the "OXI" to remind everyone of the proud answer of our Governor I. Metaxas and how our Freedom was conquered with our weapons in battle.



See you Gentlemen in few days, due to the loss of my father few months ago and lot of bureaucracy i have to go to my birthplace to help my mother for Winter preparations and gather some documents from the local Public Services for her pension which she is entitled to.
