I had some wet and humid weather so the leaves hanging in my garage are in low case. I cut off the tip of a recently dried air cured African Red and twisted up a small roll-up. It tasted really good! Very smooth, good flavor and no grassy taste. Has anyone tested theirs yet? This may be another variety that needs minimal aging.

I took a larger part of another leaf and twisted up a fatter roll-up, and it was a little bit harsh with a tiny bit of grass flavor (barely), but still... That lamina was probably dried a week ago.

Was yours flue cured, Amax? Mine was air dried. Unfortunately I didn't flue cure any. I only ended up with two plants of AR and I learned the hard way about mixing varieties in the flue cure. Still, air dried it tastes pretty sweet, but the sugars will probably erode somewhat during aging since no enzymes were killed by heat. Looking forward to seeing what a month in the kiln does to it.

That's some of the best creative English right there ... it looks funny - but we all know exactly what you mean! I'm going to start using "lord bastards" in that way for my everyday talking from now on!
