Hello.
I'm not willing to revolutionize the way tobacco is done, but for those who have 3D print and want a clean way with reusable items that do not rust such metalic hook or messy fishing lines and so long,
i have made for my own usage a 3D printed tiny hook for the huge leaves . I started with bent metal string which is usually used to attach fences, but i didn't have enough. So plastic comes into play.
Let's be modern while we can.

per 12 or more, the hooks are not stucking on plate ( no raft, no brim : pointless, more marteria used than hook itself).
so per 6 the timing is ok and printing goes fine. couple minutes to print, i restart the print as soon it is done to prevent printer to cool down while i remove printed ones.

content zip file is the STL file and the .IPT for inventor if you want to modify it for your needs.

prolly wont be able to bring anything as knowledge to this forum, so let's contribute another way.

All you have to do is side hole with metallic tool fist, i use the metal hook for leather work, i used it to make the fishing line to go thru before.
Otherwise, a nail, anything robust enough will do the job. PLA is not ok to perform the hole on the plant.

it may be time consuming to make them for some of you guys, but it is reusable. Your call.

Regards.
