Just got another 12" of snow last night. That makes 18" of snow in the last 6 days!! Sometimes I get to wondering what the hell I am doing here. I was told before that I couldnt grow tobacco in Wisconsin. Meybe they were right. Meybe I will just plant snow peas and Iceberg lettuce.

You may be right. I wish I had the foresight to lay in some Agribon row cover like Stogie. I'll be better prepared next year I promise. There was just so much prep to do and supplies to buy this first year my income couldn''t keep up.

With the ground cold and wet I dont think havein plants in the ground now would be to the plants advantage. I think May 1 is our best plantin date. Some years youll want to slap your self. But you wouldnt have wanted 200 plants out side last nite. Ive done it and ant got but 50 buckets. Itll make you go crazy.

The snow melted to 6" yesterday. It is supposed to be sunny and in the mid 40's todayso it will melt a lot more. In a normal year tomatoes and tobacco go in the ground on May 15. I expect june 1 is going to be the date this year.

The snow an cold sucks but you get paid off with good ground and nice summers. Makes me cold just thinking of it..

Ya Doc this is frickin horrible.Alot of my seedlings are 4 inches high and itchin to get out on the trailer.

On this side of the state we had thunderstorms with freezing rain creating many power outages but very little snow and non on the ground YET.

How are your seedlings doin?

In Massachusetts we had a beautiful March day today. High fifties and the forsythias just bloomed which usually happens in March.
