Blending Question

I am planning on blending for myself in the very near future, and was hoping to get some advice on specifics of putting together a few blends based on what I like to smoke now. I can enjoy anything that's not a sauced aromatic, or really really coated in PG like drug store blends. My favorites, however, are G&H's Kendal Kentucky and Dark Birdseye/Flake, C&d's Kajun Kake, Bayou Morning and Old Joe Krantz. On the lat side, my favorites have been Sillem's Commodore Flake, and Macbaren's HH Latakia Flake.

I am particularly interested in blending a good crumble cake, and plug as well.

I know this is very general, but based on some of those blends, I was hoping to get some ideas on a few good starting points before I order some whole leaf.

Some Virginia, Burley, Dark Fired Kentucky, Orientals, Perique and Latakia will get you going.

Start in small batches and experiment, keep notes and weights, give all blends a few months in the jar before deciding if it's good.

Blending your own is really fun and rewarding, and I particularly enjoy the pure flavors you get without all the chemical additives of the commercial blends. Welcome to the club.
