From what I’ve read
Good info guys. Thanks. I think I’m gonna order some whole leaf, make an aging kiln, and experiment to figure out what I like best.
From what I have read it depends on the sugar content of the tobacco as to how ageing affects the taste more sugar more noticeable changes in taste over time

After all that i read it would surprise me if it dosen't speed things up. I have the same experiment since 4 days. I packed a tin of virginia flake near my radiator. I definitly want to hear how your experiment is going

You may well be stoving the tobacco at radiator levels of heat.

References?

Pretty common theory in the pipe community that high sugar VA cellars better than low sugar leaf like burley. I don't know of a scientific paper on the topic but GL Pease talks about it quite a bit on his web site. The section of his FAQ On The Aging Of Tobacco is one source: https://www.glpease.com/FAQ.html
