Looking for All Active Posts

The "What's New?" button doesn't behave as one might hope. It is possible to create a custom search and SAVE it, to view all active posts over the past, say, 2 weeks. You only have to set this up once, then it will be available for all subsequent visits. [You may want to copy this and paste it into Notepad, for reference while setting up the search.]

  • click on "Advanced Search"
  • select "Search Single Content Type" tab
  • for Search Type, select "Posts"

  • Examine "Additional Options":
  • for Posts, select "2 Weeks Ago" (or whatever you like) AND "and Newer"
  • for Sort Results as, select "Last Posting Date" AND "in Descending Order"
  • for Show Results as, select "Threads"

Now, in the bottom dropdown box, select "Save Search Preferences" AND click "Go"

This will preserve the selected search. The next time you click on "Advanced Search" and the "Search Single Content Type" tab, the saved search criteria will appear, and you can simply click the "Search Now" button.

You may or may not need to log out and log in again for the saved search parameters to appear for the first time.

The other search tab, the "Search Multiple Content Types" tab, doesn't seem to save properly.

It's true that this will require 3 clicks each time you want to see the results, but it works.

If your not familiar with notepad, use thread tools at top header and select email this page. {that would be me}....

I opened my mail in a new window and was able to follow instructions by keeping 2 tabs open, Thats a nice feature, Worked first time, go figure, I never bothered to try that feature except for key word searchs or tags .... Thanks Bob.
