The one I got didn't work very well. Didn't have a big enuff coil and the batt. didn't stay charged very long.

Ain't nothing wrong with a Bic!

Very true .. lol .. I was sitting in my car one day about to light my cigar when my gas lighter stopped working and thought I was SOL and then I spotted the electric lighter in my car (built-in one that all cars have) which I never ever used and pretty much forgot about.
Thought it would be cool to have a portable version built for cigars, no issues with wind and nice even burn etc..
So I looked this up and saw that electric one for cigs just wondered if they worked okay..

I looked at one a while back (picked it up and played with it); my impression was that the "coil" was wound from too thin gauge wire and durability would almost certainly be an issue. Did not buy.

The two times I've been stupid enough to get a lighter with a coil, it failed within a week.

I changed the heat element in my one with toaster element...it didn't get as hot as the other thinner original element wire..but was stronger and made it last longer. .but as others have said. .the batteries ant to good. I prefer my gas torch cigar lighters as well

I had one back in the late 70s. You had to stick the cig in the side. Looked cool but burnt out in a week. The ones on the walls of the nuclear sites look like that filament. However it gave the smoke a strange metal tast along with mint and whatever was lit on it.
