I have some pretty rough store bought tobacco (Tin Star) that I thought cavendishing (is that a word?) in an Instant Pot might improve. How much moisture should be applied before putting the lids on the jars?

Thanks,
John

I'm all for creating new words. Cavendishing it is!

It would be between 33% and 50% water by weight. You can weigh that, or for every ounce of tobacco, add 1-1/2 to 2tbsp of water. I personally go 50/50.

Remember you will want to dry afterwards.
Thanks. I definitely need to do some research on the rest of the process.

Laughing at myself now. As I was typing "the rest of the process", without thinking I first typed "the rest of the story". For years I had heard "Now stay tuned for the rest of the story, right here, on WBAP 820".
