So I have curing my tobacco some air cure and some flu in a box I made. Samsun air cured or cured on stalk gets a black mold even though it gets plenty of light one whole small sucker stalk I put off the end of the greenhouse as an experiment seems to dry with black spots. In the greenhouse I have most of the side walls taken off for air flow and seems the Burley does fine. Any thoughts this is mold right? Its not fuzzy grey or white kind but its black mildew like.

My mycologist friend once told me that Aspergillus niger was keen to grow in sunlight. The dark colour is a protective adaptation. I didn't really believe him at first, but I have also seen it on leaf hung outside.

The way such a humidity cycle is handled in a tobacco barn is to open the slats each morning, and close them each evening. It seems like the night humidity is the culprit.
