Any readers here? I read all the time from history to fantasy to westerns. I just finished the “Atlantis Gene“ trilogy by A.G. Riddle since the topic was a pandemic that wiped out most of the humans (thankfully this is fiction) and I’m well on the way to reading “Departure” by the same author. I’m looking forward to catching up on some Jonathan Moeller soon. Any fans? I also like Lee Childs but Hollywood messed up the picture in my mind of former Military Police Major 6’5” 250 lb. Jack Reacher by having him played by 5’7” Tom Cruise? Whatever. My smoke of the evening is my homemade cigarette blend consisting of 40% flue cured, 20% TN90 burley, 20% Maryland 609, 10% VA355 dark air, and 10% Prilep. It’s smoooooth cough. So, whatcha readin‘ and smokin’?

I purchased this a year ago, for something to read while on my road trip last June. The content is pretty densely packed, so I just read a little bit of it per month. This morning, when my electricity was shut off for 3 hours ("In order to provide you with the best possible service, we will be improving equipment on the..."), I pushed all the way through page 138 (from about page 130).

Blender is a truly wonderful, free, open-source, 3-D environment creation tool. Open-source also means that it has been carefully organized by a committee of 1000 geeks. A list of the keyboard shortcuts fills four printed pages.

Blender is a great tool, and it's free.
I agree that its user interface is somewhat non intuitive, but they did a great job the few last years to make it more user-friendly (when I begun using it a few years ago, it was not user-friendly at all.... and overly complicated...)

I read one novel a week, but not of the same genres as those you mentioned. I did read and love all the Louis L'Amour books when I was a kid, tho. Currently reading 1Q84, by Haruki Murakami. Smoking something composed of Nic Habano seco, C98 Viso, Olor ligero, wrapped in Sumatra.

To go with your reading of Murakami:

Thank you, that was inspiring. My taste for music is as eclectic as my reading. I listen to all genres. Following is Jake Shimabukuro performing “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” on the ukulele. I’m trying to teach myself guitar and ukulele and guys like Jake just tick me off sometimes. But truly a mark to shoot for. If you like ukulele, you must listen to Eddie Vedders Ukulele Songs album. Wow. Not your grandfathers ukulele Hawaiian music at all.

I received two books today. Real books like made out of wood and they came via snail mail rather than being beamed to me from the ether. Weird. The first is “Impact Mitigation and Other Science Fiction Short Stories” by a Mr. Robert C.A. Goff of “Grow Your Own Cigars” fame. The other is a book I’ve been looking forward to since I read the first book in the series named “Counterspell: Guardian of the Ruins”. Really, really impressed. I have two copies in print and one on kindle. This second of the series which I have yet to read is ”Counterspell: The Second Law”. Looking forward to reading this but I’m going to go back and reread the first one again to refresh my memory (I’ve only read the first one twice several years ago). This book is by a Mr. Robert C.A. Goff and Mr. Micah M.A. Goff. Many of you may know Mr. Robert C.A. Goff as Bob or deluxestogie here on the forum. Quite an accomplished individual. Way to go, Bob! I’m humbled to be on the same forum with you. I’m currently sampling a pipe blend deluxestogie sent to me years ago named Warspur, a blend of dark Virginia, Turkish, and Latakia. Thank you.

Great works for sure.
I haven't seen any autographed versions for sale?

Steve
Oh, oh oh. I have a copy of “Counterspell: Guardian of the Ruins” signed by the author! Dude tried to swap me a restored 67 Cadillac Sedan de Ville for it and I said “uh uh there’s no freaking way”. Can you imagine the unmitigated gall of that guy? Seriously. I’m holding out for a 58 Chrysler 300 series.

I can't read books that aren't printed on sheets of pressed tree-derived cellulose.
