They say you learn from your mistakes ! .... well I now hold a doctorate in growing tabbacky

I managed to get 24 varieties to go ... alas some did not flower and I'm having trouble drying and curing the last plantings, as I got away too late in the season ( again ) ah ! ... but that's what NEXT year is for , right ?
Never mind, I still have a little seed left over .... ' eggs & baskets '

A big thanx to the great advise I've had, and let me tell you i'll be lurking around for more, .... and seed

Biggest disaster is a white mold on some stored leaf , obviously not dry enough, and some varieties seem much more susceptible than others
if I clean of the mold, is it still smokeable ---- or will it be tainted permanently ??

If the mold is just on the stems, then stem the leaf, and all is fine. If there is very light white mold in the lamina, you can mist it with 50% water/white vinegar, then dry it well. (Some have used Serenade to kill the fungus. Others have used H[sub]2[/sub]O[sub]2[/sub].) If there is heavy mold in the lamina, I would just toss the affected portions of leaf.
