I can't afford a shredder right now so I'm using a pasta maker. The problem is that it's just so slow going using the pasta maker. Is there a better way?

I do not know if there is a better or cheaper way, but I use a pasta maker and run it thru twice. It is slower than a power shredder, but with a couple of hours shredding, I can get enough done for a week or so. I will order a power shredder when this last pasta shredder gives up.

If you have a Kitchen-Aid mixer you can buy the angel hair attachment for it. You can get them for about $100.00 on Ebay. If you do buy one, feed the tobacco slow because there is a plastic bushing on the driven shaft that breaks really easy. I found that out the hard way. The Powermatic seems expensive but when you consider the money you save by NOT buying commercial cigarettes you will see a savings ( and then profit) within a few short months.

Edit: A lot of us spent more money on "other" type shredders until the Powermatic came along. The Pasta Maker machines do not last that long. The gears are pot metal that are peaned onto a shaft. Knowing what I know now I would just use my credit card and buy a Powermatic, even if it took me a year to pay it off.

Any of you guys consider switching to rolling cigars? No equipment required other than a kniife and a board. You could roll any size you like. You could use the same tobacco .. cause burley makes a good wrapper. If you can get over the knobbly appearance of a home made beginner cigar.

Just seems to me that cigars are more easily home made than cigarettes.

Just curious how many have switched for the relative ease of getting the job done.

Just speaking for myself, smoking a cigar is a different experience than smoking a cigarette. So I would never switch.
