I thought it was awfully nice of those Chinese people to send some seed all the way to Virginia.

Actually, this is a photo from the ag people in Virginia. The "free" seed seems to have been sent to many states. It's like a box of chocolates from your X.

That was my thought as well about them looking like morning glory seeds.
Probably bioengineered morning glories that release a strain of corona that is actually lethal to people under 75. Or not.

I would incinerate them on the off chance that they would contaminate our landfills and spread from there as a future noxious weed. Better safe than sorry.
Wild morning glory (convolvulus arvense) is a noxious weed in many parts of the country. How about a morning glory that is resistant to most herbicides and possibly produces a toxin in its pollen that kills bees and other pollinators. That would be a nice gift for American agriculture to go along with crashing our economy with corona.

I love the Chinese people as my fellow man, but I hate their government. Any government that shuts off domestic travel to Wuhan while allowing international travel to countinue to leave Wuhan for close to two weeks following the identification of Corona is not a country I would want to try and grow free seeds from. I would error on the side of caution and dispose of the seeds carefully. Just my two cents.

Looking online it looks like they are sending different types of seed out. Hum, maybe seeds coated with a nice fungal or bacterial pathogen. I still wouldn't open them. Burn them or autoclave them.

Conspiracy theory time - did it strike anybody else as being odd that almost every county in the US had a positive case or two of corona back in March and early April according to the John's Hopkins corona virus map, yet major outbreaks took so long to take hold in the southern and western states. It just seems mind boggling to me a virus as transmissible as corona could be so wide spread early on yet take so long to become an epidemic in many states... It almost makes one wonder if it was "seeded" pun intended to a certain degree.

Probably not. I'm probably going to upset the moderators with this and don't mean to get political, but given China's history of blatant human rights violations I think they fully intended to spread Corona using their own unwitting citizens. Why else would they immediately stop domestic travel but allow international travel to countinue for weeks. It's easy to say "we didn't know" but actions speak louder than words, especially with a country that is known to be less than truthful. China has its own interests. They are going to be taking full advantage of this situation rather it started off as intentional or not. The western world and freedom loving people need to be careful - i.e. dont open the free seeds and maybe start buying products from freedom supportive nations. That and realize maybe China has less than peaceful intents in mind.

It was intended as a joke.
My apologies if this has upset anyone.
