Maduro with the Nicaraguan. You've got a Padron.

Besuki with the Dominican. You've got a damn good smoke. Milder than the Nic and Maduro, great change up smoke. Those two are my favorite blends out of all the possibles.

Great, that's just what I was looking to hear. I myself was also thinking Ecuador Maduro and Corojo Oscuro.

Anybody tried PA Maduro wrapper on an otherwise Nicaraguan puro?

Yes I have. It's a good smoke but if you have both Nic and Dom I would add a touch of Dom to it. Give it some depth and smoothness. #12

I agree with Knucklehead on the Bezuki. It's great tasting and easy to work with. The San Andreas wrapper is quite nice too.

Ugh, I've had HORRIBLE experiences with the Bezuki wrapper! Horrible! Paper thin, FULL of holes, tears easy even when it's properly hydrated.2015-11-05 13.01.02.jpg

But thankfully, I've at least learned how to roll a special kind of lemonade with this massive lemon.

I hope you all had better experience, cause this leaf isn't a great wrapper for me.

I love bezuki. I'm pretty inexperienced, but I find it easy to work with because it is easy to flatten, doesn't take long to hydrate, and has small veins. The flavour is excellent too.

I'll give you that, the veins are quite small. But having holes or tearing easy just bothers me. :/

A shipment from a new supplier of Bezuki will be in next week (or so...it hit port today). I'm hoping the quality is better than what I've been getting.

I've had the same experience with Bezuki . Not sure if thats just its nature or a specific year or country's crop ...I'm hoping the stuff I grew is a little bit more handleable .

i got the last Bezuki Lb before it went backordered. it is in pretty good shape, i have not seen damage issues and it is fairly durable and small veined. hydrates easily.
i think it looks pretty dull and tastes very plain. earthy would be the only consistant descriptor for it. not really my favorite.

i'd recommend the CT shade from looks and mild taste. the stuff i got had some pin holes, beetle damage i'd presume, but i also got at least 2 Lbs of it for the price of one, so when i find holes in the wrong place i just set it aside for some other purpose. now that i've used half of it, the rest seems to be in much better condition. slow to hydrate and very delicate... but it stretches nice and lays down flat if you don't overdo it. and it looks awesome when it's done.

the eco maduro is the easiest rolling and nicest looking, it is spicy and vibrant and i am gaining appreciation for the flavour even more as i age out some sticks.

i got some light fire cured marketed as wrapper. it is very strong, very stretchy and very smokey. it is heavily veined and gives a rough backwoods look. i have only rolled a couple with it because it smells so strong and the mrs. complains about the odour. the smoke smell does not come through the smoke taste, rather it lends an overall sweetness to the smoke i found pleasantly surprising. i look forward to anothe roll one day soon, but i'll prolly have to clean a spot in the shop to work.

i got a large number of habano seco leaf that was wrapper grade from a standard filler grade package. i really like this too, a great all rounder...some flavour, smooth, not too strong and a smooth, yet toothy look.
