Beautiful ripe leaf in the first pic. I like to harvest all my baccy at that stage (or even beyond…). Curing those leaves is a child’s play.

Primed lower leaves from two pools. Last pool has run a couple of weeks behind due to a later planting.
Will hang in the shade until wilted (couple of days) and then move to sun for curing.

The leaves are huge. Even the tip leaves are big. It has been awhile since I have been able to see the blue pools. I see them now out of the corner of my eye and have to do a double take. Whazzat? The leaf hanging in the garage wilted in a day. They were as crisp as fresh celery yesterday. I moved them out for sun curing.
I am going to have to rig up a sun curing rack. I don't think my Jeep grill is going to be able to keep up much longer. These leaves seem to be going ripe all the way to the top at the same time. And quickly.

A folding laundry rack might be cheaper than just buying more Jeeps.
By curing rack I meant a rope strung between a tractor and a tree.
Every single leaf from two pools is ripe and ready to be primed and cured. The lower leaf from the third pool are becoming ripe and could be primed now. The problem is that I want to sun cure but the weather forecast is showing clouds and thunderstorms for the next two weeks. 14 days of clouds and maybe longer. I suppose I'm going to ride it out for a week and watch the leaf and the weather hoping the leaf is not ripening as quickly as I think it is, or the weather turns out nicer than the weathermen are predicting. What to do? What to do? I may panic first thing in the morning and wholesale harvest.
@Brown Thumb's hailstorm has me as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Zero hornworms this year. Barest minimum aphids on maybe three tops. Beautiful leaf. What to do? What to do?

Just wait and see. If you shred for cigarettes, a few hail holes in the leaves won’t matter anyway. Or, if the pools can be moved, you can cross your fingers but move them under cover if needed. Are hail nets a viable solution maybe?

Forecast shows possibilty of gusty winds and small hail for tomorrow, tomorrow night, and the next day. 14 days of clouds and thunderstorms. I will keep my fingers crossed and wait for sunshine.
~90% of ultra-violet light passes through clouds. I have "cloud-cured" a number of times.

Starting to see more yellow. The hail never materialized. I'm glad I didn't panic and harvest. I like strong cigarettes. These are getting more like it.
Leaves on the left half of the picture are in the third pool and are not mature yet. They are from the later planting. The leaves on the right half of the picture are in the middle pool and the leaf is fairly ripe.
