Starting greenhouse float trays in Georgia.

The machinery pictured seems to:

• fill the cells with starting mix (from the green bin)
• brush away the excess (silver box with a motor on top)
• place a divot into each cell (the drum of brown fingers)

I don't see any automation for placing seeds into cells. So the attendant might have to drop a seed into each cell. He does seem to be holding some sort of object in his left hand. Maybe the seeds are placed on a different assembly line. (Two women wearing hair nets seem to be working behind him.)

Maybe they are coated tobacco seed, they are way bigger. I think it’s for commercial producers…

Yes, they likely use pelleted seed, and it is solely for commercial producers.
