Got some seeds started today,virginia gold,burley,bss,maryland 609, mcy,and florida sumatra ,I will be planting more when i recieve seed for them

Also planned are ytb,maybe some yellow orinco,burley21and two undetermined species for grow out shooting for 144 plants this year

Boboro, I know it seems early, but time and time again I've learned that in Michigan it's good to have the plants a little bit more advanced when you put them in the ground. Late frost/high winds in the spring warrant the early starting.

I dont know about growin up thir but that would be a good reson to start them a little later. You are goin to have to put them in a big pot and find a warm sunny place to keep them till May before you can put them in the ground. I would wait till I could put the plants from the flat in the ground. If you have a green house you want have a problem. If you dont Id wait.

Yeah little portable greenhouse.last year it was warm enough to put in ground in may,and i didnt have any plants .this year it will be different, in case of early failure i can start over

As long as you don't keep them in flats, I think starting early this far north is a good idea. You can transplant them into small plastic pots and leave them outside after they have adjusted to sunlight and just bring them inside if you get a May frost. Then they will be larger when you plant in the ground after the last frost date. For me that would be Memorial Day.

Didnt make one last got started very late with some donated plants from smokestack and went and visited brown thumb and picked a bunch o baccy

Seedman and seedhaven on ebay also got some burley seed grown in mi on ebay and some virginia seed from in on ebay last year

Is that an led grow light your using? What watt are the leds? ive heard good and bad reveiws about them so it would be good to hear from someone who actually uses them.
