I tried to get 10 10 10 but this is all I could find. The farm store told me this was the same as 10 10 10 and I should just use half as much. I have my tobacco plots the same as in Bob's book, 5X12 (600 square feet ) so should I just use 1/2 pound per plot? Also, they never heard of low chloride so I have attached a photo of the ingredients on the bag. I do not see any reference to chloride. What do any of you think? Thank you for your input.DSC02274.JPG

The ratios among the 3 principal components (N-P-K) are almost the same as 10-10-10, so using "half as much" is reasonable. Without seeing a list of actual ingredients (i.e. the minerals from which it is made, or the brand name, so I can look it up), I can't comment on its chlorine content. 5'x12' is 60 square feet. I apply 1½ cups of my granular 10-10-10 per 60 square feet. So about ¾ cup of 18-18-19 would be about right, though that assumes it is a bunch of tiny rocks, rather than a powder. [I don't weigh it.]

Are there any other labels or info on the bag? In the USA lots of fertilizer bags will have “derived from:…” or similar on the bag. Things that would indicate chloride would be things like Muriate of Potash, for example.
