Well, I went awhile without internet, (or a place to live) through the winter... Damn near froze to death on new years drinking everclear outside, had someone threaten to kill me with a 38 special.. and ended up back in the same place... all of my seeds molded over the winter and I disposed of them in a pile of gravel.... I now have mahorka volunteers and a few black krim/oregon spring tomatoes currently growing near my ...dwelling... So how are y'all?

Welcome back.. lets hear all about it and don't forget to embellish some along the way. Sounds like you had a rough time but I'm sure in a few years you'll be able to laugh about some of it, not all but some.

Well, a psychopathic family member pulled his firearm on me, and said to get the **** out or things would get "out of hand" So I took off in my van and lived in there for.. Like 2 months? Before a friend online (psycho number two) Let me come live up there with him for a WEEK before I figured out he was completely -f-in crazy as well as paranoid from almost being electrocuted to death... Seeing as he lived all the way up in astoria, I wound up homeless in portland for awhile where the van broke down (Portland scared the hell out of me.....) Before staying in the repaired van in salem visiting a friend there who was nice enough to let me shower. A few months later I moved down in the woods when it got really cold, so I could build fires at night. Around new years I nearly died drinking a bottle of everclear, I would have died if my best friend hadn't shown up to help me, as I was completely blacked out.

A few months later I was repairing the van out here and the engine siezed up.

Family relations improved, I'm still living in my van, but at least I'm on land I can grow on for now, and I plan on sleeping outside most of the summer as it rarely if ever rains after June.

I don't think I missed anything but the small stuff.... Like walking up on a pissed off homeless man swinging a machete, screaming about where his stuff went..... I think I'm desensitized to weapons in my face.... LOL

Theres a lot of shows on the tube about people living off the grid...perhaps in the future we will see you on t.v. being followed around by a national geographic crew.

But damn i bet it was cold being homeless in oregon during the winter..

You need to migrate to fla. Our winters are mild.

I bet it's hard to catch your death of cold in florida, that's a plus, but there are seldom venomous snakes here, and very few black widow / hobo spiders / brown recluse here.

I know most of the edible and healing plants here, so my chances of making it off the grid outside the pacific northwest would significantly decrease.

Would it be wrong to say I have some natural areas I plan to naturalize the rustica into? There are some wild stands of it near portland from past native american activities, so whats the problem? ;)
