Hello everybody

My name is Ville and i am also new into cigar rolling. When i search for tobacco and other equipment i find another webshop (not WLT) where i make an order. Unfortunately the quality of the wrapper was quite poor, aprox. 30-40% is full of hole and cracks. What is your opinion about this? Is it normal?
I´ve bought some samples from WLT now and the package are now in the hands of swedish custom. I heard from Don at WLT that there is some other active members from Sweden in this forum so i´d like to now if you have the same problems whit customs and how it ends.

Welcome Swedroller. The leaf from WLT is far superior to any other that you can buy. I'm sure the Swedish Mafia will give you more details...:)

Ok, thanks everybody. Sounds like i´m finally found the right place. Might arrive next week if i´m lucky. I have finished many cigars of the first deliverance and i´m really satisfied whit the result consider it´s the first time. However, when smoking them it works great in 2/3 after that they stop burning. This have happened whit 4 out of 6 or 7 i´ve tried.
It´s same kind of filler and blend in all of them and the consistency is similar. Does anyone know what i did wrong?

Have a nice weekend

Congratulation on your first home-rolled cigars.

Some varieties of leaf tend to absorb moisture more quickly than others, so the head can become too damp to burn well. Another possible explanation is that moisture from the mouth can saturate the head--I do that when I work in the garden while smoking a cigar. A third possibility is that the filler is too tight, so that moisture absorption by the head eventually prevents a good draw.

Hi Ville and welcome .
You will find that tobacco from WLt is excellent and of highest class , about the custom issue , just tell them that it is whole leaf tobacco and should be handled according to HS code 2401.01.xx.xx , that should do the trick , you might have to pay swedish v.a.t on the value including shipping cost and a small admin fee , but that is a small sum "imho" , but this is the odd part , sometime the shippings seems to slip thru the cusoms without interference , i think it is the value of the content in the box , but thats an theory i have:eek:
Send me pm and i will help you

Thanks, it´s a nice feeling smoke something made by your self
I think we can exclude the second explanation in tjis case. It´s something whit the moisture i guess. When i scratch away the burnt ashes the surface of the cigar looks like a bowl, more burnt in the center than the rest. They have rest in the humidor for about 3,5 weeks and that might be too short time to get an even moisture in the hole cigar but i just could not wait any longer.

Thank you Mikael
I have provide them whit every information they asked for so it´s just to wait and see. I did not have the code but i describe what kind of tobacco it is and that is not supposed to be taxed more than VAT.

Soon you will get a bill from the customs , if it seems right you are done , but if it seems that they want you to pay full tobaccotax (wery wery high sum ) or that they made some other misscalculation , appeal and claim that they are wrong , and tell them it is "whole tobacco leafs" and tell them it is #HS code 2401.01" . This is wery important that you do , it shows that you know the import rules and they cant overcharge you
I have bought whole leaf tobacco now for a couple of years ,and the customs have learn that i know the rules and regulations , so i dont have to declare what it is inside the shippment any more, i even got a custom number from them , and they just pass shippments thru to my mailbox , together with a bill on the correct sum;) .
Sometime when it`s small shippments (value under 500 sek (70-80 $) they dont bother to send me any bill , just let it thru.
So keep up the good work , and enjoy your good smoke with this excellent leafs

Welcome from another Newbie; I've found the guys here very knowledgeable and helpful. Due to high international shipping, customs, duties, etc you may want to make friends with the other WLT customers in Sweden and you guys do some group purchases.
Good luck and again, welcome.

Is Santa visiting Sweden?

Not yet, it´s only swedish custom who finally decided to deliver my package from WLT after almost three weeks. The samples looks great and i´m really looking forward to open it up. It´s Azucarodo Oscuro and Sabroso Medio, i guess some of you have tested it, what is your experience?
