Yes I am in Saskatchewan. I decided last winter I should try growing and so my green thumb daughter ordered and started some plants for me. She had great results and I have about 50 Virginia gold and 25 Aztec plants doing very well in my garden. I’m not sure the Aztec was a great choice but the Virginia gold look fantastic. I have no idea what I am doing so started looking online for info and found this very informative site. A great resource. My early harvest of lower leaves are hanging on a string in the shade of a maple tree and are colour curing very well. I am going to have a substantial amount of leaves to process and will continue searching the many posts for the best method of curing aging and storing. Already making plans for other varieties next year.

It’s a very relaxing hobby , and if you grow enough for cigarettes, you can really save a good bit of money.

mans if your growing for cigar purposes.you can create a very fine cigar with the right blend, that would be high dollar in a cigar shop.

I grow for cigarettes, but had some cigar growers on here send some of thier cigars.
And they were very smooth , I smoked 2 out of 11. That was sent to me , they’ve been aging and will be top shelf when smoked, after a good softening, sit it on a porch while it’s raining, and soak up that humidity, and perhaps the next day have a fine cigar.
I’ve had them a couple years. Since I first coined FTT
