My favorite cigar from the past is Tony Borhani's Bahia Gold, back when they were made in the Canary Islands. I even had the pleasure of meeting Tony once in Arlington VA. This was just after he'd moved his factories, IIRC. He cited production constraints from being in such a small area, and I sympathize with him, but I never enjoyed his cigars after that. I haven't seen them for years, though I have not been going to large, well-stocked stores now for a while. Maybe they've gotten better.
Has anyone tried to recreate the flavor of the original Bahia's and would you share your recipe?
Second, has anyone up-to-date experience with the current offerings and can say if they've recaptured any of the early flavor profile?
Thanks in advance,
Alex
