Hadn't smoked on my pipe in a while. (bout a year). Pulled out my celler of stuff, and smoked on a few. All vendor made mind ya.
Planta Anno MMVI (Planta Pear)
Sutliff Barbados Plantation
H&H Marquee BlackHouse

All was good on them. Enjoyed my time and all the fun of smoking.

This Sunday I had to get some tires replaced, so I grabbed a pipe pouch I had, which still had some Lane 1-Q in it (from over a year ago). I checked and was surprised that it still had moisture in it. So, good to go.
Car getting worked on, I packed a cobb up with the Lane 1-Q. In a short amount of time, I got the worst tongue bite from it. Didn't finish the bowl, and my tongue is just recovering today.

So, WTF happened. I don't ever recall getting much if any bite from the 1-Q.
Did its sitting around cause it to morph into the mighty biter?
Or, am I or my tongue just a punk bitch that cant hold its OTC tobacco?

I think I will be trying some less PG laden tobacco for the next puff.

I have 6 pipes. 3 briar and 3 cobb. Since starting back I have only used the cobbs.
Pipes were pretty clean when I went on the Pipe Hiatus. Pipes were still out as display in the house during Hiatus, so should have stayed pretty dry.

The other sampling I did were in two of the 3 cobbs and the time with the bite was only with the one.
I'll put a little rotation on to see if maybe I am getting a pipe specific issue and not so much the 1-Q.

Thanks for the reply, as I hadn't even thought about it from the pipe direction rather than tobacco.
