Box curing dark brown

So i have a few leaves that have been in a box for a few days. Ive been shifting em about every day but they are getting a bit dark brown. A bit darker than the other leaves. Is this what would be considered "house burn" or am i just overreacting?
The box is sitting in a constant 26c room. The leaves does not smell bad just a bit sweet. Neither are they slimy or sticky.

I would say you're doing fine. What variety of leaves are they? Cigar leaf can color cure dark, especially if it's from higher on the stalk and not picked too early. You will know mold when you see it, it's unmistakable in a way our photos can't quite capture.

They are criollo 98 and burley 9 leaves and quite low on the stalk. Its not fuzzy so its not mold yet i was thinking more along the lines of bacteria and rot

What is the humidity outside the box? Once the leaf is yellow, you should be able to finish the cure outside the box.

Been keeping em in the box as they are not entirely yellow yet (might be a mistake?). But around 65rh if i keep the humidifier set otherwise quite a bit lower.

Thanks for the warning. Ill keep an eye on em and make sure there is no excess moisture.

they dried a bit and this is the color difference between the leaves from the same plant, The right one was just hang cured and dried. Nothing major i bet im just unsure of the process still .

The color of dry tobacco leaves depends on the drying speed and the position of the leaf on the stem. The lower leaves are lighter in color, while the upper leaves are darker. Fast drying results in lighter leaves, while slow drying results in darker leaves.

that would make sense and would explain why these are quite a bit darker The one that hung dry was almost all yellow when i started drying it so it didnt get the box treatment.
