What's the brand name of your current valves? Some ebay sellers may still have that brand, but it will only delay the need change the whole manifold if the company is out of business.

Too much water , too rich soil , Put in direct sunlight ,
That mold on the soil should not hurt the plants in any way . Mine in the greenhouse does the same thing with no problems .
If it goes become a problem ( Rotting plants , leaves yellow and plants die ) you can used Dithane DF .
1 teaspoon per gallon and drench the soil .
Sun and dry is best in my opinion .

Thanks Larry, They didn't have the Dithane but had Penncozeb 75df which is suppose to be the same just less money.
The guy never got back to me because he was researching it and actually had two choices when I stopped in this morning.
I Also picked up a soil test kit to send out to Penn State while I was there. 10 bucks is a good deal I think.

Even old deluxestogie is finally obtaining soil analysis from the Ag Extension Service this year. Two separate samples: one from the upper garden, where things were happy in 2013, and one from a lower bed that experienced Frenching in 2013. (Extensive inquiry revealed that there was an AES office right in town--half the distance from home that I regularly drive to buy groceries.) They said it would take 7 to 10 days for results. I'll carry the samples in on Monday. These are $10 a pop in Virginia as well. I believe I spent a bit over $100 last year on composted manure. Maybe I'll need more; maybe none at all. So, yep, clearly a good deal.

Two years ago I put tons of horse chit down and had a huge crop. I figured last year there would be plenty of nutrients left in the soil and I did add some nitrogen in the beginning to be safe. Then we had all the rain and the plants were small. Makes me wonder if it was the rain or soil.
After the hell I have been thru already with the starts I am trying to cover all my bases.
To add more insult to injury the flock of freaking Turkeys came back a week ago and are hanging out.

After my wife watched me boil and pluck a chicken there is no way in hell she is gonna let me harvest the turkeys.
She actually grew up on a farm but everything went to market and the butcher for processing.

I must say a little diesel smoke and fresh air is good for the soul.
First day out of the basement for the last three weekends due to the sprouts.
The ground dried up for my first tilling, Went over her twice overlapping 50%.
I will rock pick and then hit her two more times picking rocks between each tilling.
The mulch layer does not like rocks or heavy dirt clumps.

Butchering poultry requires most city-raised people (and many farm-raised people) to reset their squeamish meter. Now if only there were a way to raise chickens that are already bled, plucked, skinned, filleted and breaded. Then you could just drop them into some hot oil, like a crab into boiling water.

I just gave these guys a haircut a week ago. And I thought my hair grew in fast.

They sure are a pretty color. I can't keep the scissors off mine. When I get bored I trim off the seed leaves and a lower leaf or two so I won't have to do it while transplanting. I cut off the lower leaves and bury them deeper for good support.

I am waiting for Workhorse to show up with his 5 acre hobby grow he was talking about.
I hope that's what's keeping him busy and not posting and he is OK.

1/3 is veggies if the wife takes care of them. I doubt it. I end up taking care of them also. Good thing she don't work for a living.
