It works good, If.
you have nice finely Rototilled dirt.
no big rocks.
No straw , hay or large foliage pieces.
It will miss seed here and there but
For a hundred bucks it works pretty Good.
It Comes with like 4 different size seed plates.
Lots of vids out there on it, just google Earthway seeder.
I never use it anymore since the garden is plastic mulch.
I grow nothing but weeds also, Just tore a Baccy plant out weeding this morning. It was rooted together good.

Del Gold, kicking my ass.
Last yr. It was poor for it also with issues. It did not grow for chit.
This yr. is better, But not much.
It Started early like frenching on some seedlings. So I did not plant the ones that looked like they had issues.
I went to weed that row today, WTF I said to self. almost every plant has this Funkey leaf problem here or their.
I wonder if the seed came from a infected plant originally. I know where the seed came from origionally.
I don't know who got Del Gold seeds off me. But if you are having problems LMK. Thanks.
None of my other plants show any Issues.
Very Odd. Genetics?
The seed I have is going into fire pit.
Any input would be Appricated, It Feels like I talking to my self any more. I'm good at that tho.;)

Don't know what to think of that. I hadn't grown that variety. They don't necessarily look bad, just not like any of the flute cure types I have grown. Leaf shape is like the One Sucker I grew last year, but lighter in color.

My thought is tobacco mosaic virus (TMV): http://www.ipmimages.org/browse/subthumb.cfm?sub=6948&area=62

Tobacco seed itself is generally thought to not carry any viruses, so long as there is no chaff in the seed.

I have had TMV in a single variety one season, then no TMV in that variety the following season, even though I used the same batch of seed both times.

Thanks Guys, It does look like TMV. I called the penn state county extension. It's right down the road from me.
She wants me to bring a couple plants by to check them out and then send them out for testing.
She finds it odd that it is only affecting one row.
I should have it everywhere, especially since It showed up on seedlings in the greenhouse.
I could not find any test kits locally.

What a handy resource. I don't think it's odd about affecting only one row. It just doesn't seem to spread that effectively. Also, many strains have varying degrees of TMV resistance.

With all the haircuts they got I would think it would have affected other strains from the scissors.
That is one nasty virus. I bought a test kit online also after researching the virus I am starting to wonder about a couple pepper plants and tomato plants. I would not want to just start pulling everything out without knowing for sure.

the scissors are certainly a possible vector. At the nursery, when doing haircuts (of petunias or other finicky plants), we kept a pitcher of water with a few capfuls of bleach. The scissors get dunked after each plant.

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg
They look bad.
But the all the tests came back as NEG.
It will be interesting to see what Penn State Says.
The test kit I got comes from a well known and trusted co.
It Cost 150 bucks shipped

I put the instructions and wiring diagram for my temperature control in a brown envelope and attached it to the side of the kiln. If I forget how to program the controller I will always know where the paper work is. You could do the same with the paper work for your flue chamber components and also add some notes from your experiments. I have a good memory, it's just real short.

There not monsters but I am satisfied so far.
Hickory Pryor is the leader, some pushing 7 ft.
Big Gem is about pushing 6 ft.
The rest is all over the place.
