Good afternoon,

My first seeds germinated. I have some others that arrived later that are not growing yet.
I have them on the inside of the house for now.The temperatures are up to 40º and more at this time.
Once they get bigger and more stable they will go into the ground. There will be more soon.
The summer has been longer arround here in the last years, so they have time to grow. Global warming, I guess.
Here are some pictures, not much to see yet but there are the first signs of life.
I will keep posting.

The weather is still to hot for direct sun exposure, I put them out a maximum of a few hours in the evening and early morning.
I find it tricky to water them without damaging the small plants so I have been using a spray device.
Currently out are Sumatra, Dark Brasil, Adonis, Monte Calme Yellow, Little Dutch and Java Bezuki.

The plants are mostly doing well.
Is there any way to know what the big plant is? Someone I know works in a Green House, he gave me some seeds. They grow it because spiders like these plants, and later use the spiders to eat parasites of flowers. No idea what breed it is thoug.

I grew the Brasil Dunkel from tabacanbau.de in 2014. I noticed differences among the plants, so the "variety" is not as stable as most. It produced large leaf that color-cures to a dark brown. I used stalk-harvesting. It made excellent cigar wrappers and filler.

It seem that you have very friendly winter there.... Do you have any frosts? Btw nice garden.
Do you know any details about Dark Brasil?

Thank you, there has been very little rain until now, about 2 or 3 times since the end of the summer. Frost can happen but mostly arround December, January or February.
It is the first time I am growing Dark Brasil. One thing I noticed is that they were developing faster than the other plants when little but once they get into the soil it makes no diference.

I wanted to write that you are lucky that you live on south, but I forgot about water. The weather is going crazy everywhere, two years ago my well was empty first time in my life.
Brasil Dark interests me, I will wait until you taste it.
