Try sticking some seco in the filler blend. Seco nearly always burns better than viso, which nearly always burns better than ligero.

Bob
I will give that a shot tonight. Also I think I have been stacking my leaves wrong. I have been basically laying some Seco or Viso down then Ligero then Seco or Viso thinking my Ligero would end up in the center but I believe my Seco is becoming the center. Also after binding how hard should it be to place into the mold? Seems like I having to manipulate the stick a good bit to get it in which sometimes rips the binder

Not that hard. It should just pop in, that's the best way I can think to say it. There is some manipulation and dexterity required. If it's too hard to get in or rips the binder, there's too much filler or it's bunched too loose. If it slides in real easy like, it's under filled or bunched too tight. You'll get the feel of it

Crumpling the filler creates air channels which allows the tobacco to burn more efficiently. I've never tried making a bunch in the mold before, nor do I believe I've ever seen or heard of it ever being done before. Create the bunch in your hand, wrap it in the binder, then put the bunch in the mold. Clamp or press the mold and let it rest for 15 minutes, rotate the bound bunches 90°, rest at least another 15 minutes to 24 hours, then apply the wrapper.

If the approach someone takes to accomplish a mutual goal is different from that of yours, it does not make theirs wrong. To say the approach someone takes to accomplish that mutual goal is wrong...is wrong.

Nonsense. We must first agree that we cannot agree to disagree unless we first disagree.

All's I know is, that guy Tullius has the kewlest lookin ashtray ever.

Hey Bob, I’m using Sumatra binder and Cameroon wrapper on Dominican liq, PA Viso

Finally getting down to brass tacks.

Now, which part of your cigar is not burning? Do you wind up with a hollow ring of binder & wrapper where the filler has burnt a crater until it stopped? Or do you wind up with an acute cone where the filler stopped burning until the wrapper & binder could not continue?

Take a shred of each type of leaf, light it, remove the flame, and see if it smolders all by itself. Which leaf in your blend does not want to smolder?

Your cigar should burn right off the table whether it's "in high case", or "in low case", or, to state the case in plain English, damp or dry... unless it's downright wet Some leaf varieties, or at least some batches of them, are mysteriously fireproof. Do you have a fireproof batch? Find out & tell us.

If none of your leaves are at fault, are you inadvertently twisting your bunch as you roll? No matter whether you roll entubado or book, you still have to keep your ring and pinkie fingers busy at the place where the filler first enters the binder. Give those two fingers and energetic fiddle to make sure your filler doesn't spiral. Easier to avoid with the book, but important either way.
