What is the binder and wrapper you are using there?
My short filler cigars have been an abysmal failure so far. They have been far to tight

That tightness comes from over-chopping. If you keep the chop under control then you can still roll a tight-feeling cigar.

The binder and wrapper are from two sides of the same leaf. It's an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper leaf I get from a non-retail source. Your best WLT equivalent is the Los Rios, which is listed as a Habano but which is IMHO Ecuadorian Sumatra.
