That tightness comes from over-chopping. If you keep the chop under control then you can still roll a tight-feeling cigar.
The binder and wrapper are from two sides of the same leaf. It's an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper leaf I get from a non-retail source. Your best WLT equivalent is the Los Rios, which is listed as a Habano but which is IMHO Ecuadorian Sumatra.
