Hi Gang

In preparation for this year's grow I'm looking at different areas to cure my tobacco. As you might remember I lost about 2/3 last year trying different locations having trouble getting the heat right. The one location that worked great was the small side add on to my shed but that is too small and was a nightmare every time I tried to get tools out.

I am wondering if anyone has tried curing their tobacco in a wooden locker/cupboard and if so was it successful? I've got an old locker and I was thinking of cutting a section out of the back of it and putting it next to a radiator. This should work for the heat I'm just wondering how to make the humidity any ideas would be great.

Cheers
Rob

For colour curing I've never found any need to do that indoors, ive always maged it by a combination of stalk curing, priming or by curing late season leaves by wrapping them in blankets or similar.

So a quick update. I am now trying my metal locker with a tub of hot water in the bottom. The temp is about 83 F and the humidity is about 45% after it drop from the initial 80% when I first put the boiling water in and left the door open. Maintaining the heat won't be a problem but I will see how long I can raise and maintain the humidity and keep you posted. I do have a load of polystyrene and bubble wrap that I may use to try and keep the humidity if it doesn't work with out.

Are you truly having success?
You sound surprised lol. Maybe I've just been lucky with my methods but I've never found it difficult to colour the leaves. Once they're the correct case I simply pack them into thick plastic bags, as long as you check and adjust as needed theres very little else to go wrong.
