Hey guys I’m new to the forum but already have some tobacco experience. I’ve been growing tobacco for roughly two years now, and I smoke my tobacco too but i still have some problems with the curing because it still just isn’t hitting like a commercial cig. What kind of forum is this anyways?

You got all these calculators but your nicotine content just doesn't add up, hey?

Well, put down that pencil, 'cause welcome to the forum.

So, other people know better about when to pick, whether you water or not, etc to increase the vitamin N, but I say change your tobacco strain, and or diversify.

Welcome to the forum. Check the New Growers' FAQ, and topics in the Index of Key Forum Threads (both linked in the menu bar). Commercial cigarettes usually contain flue-cured Virginia, some burley and some Oriental. Build a flue-cure chamber, if you haven't already done that.

Welcome to FTT.
If you like the “throat hit” increase the burley in your blend (or use it exclusively) and select strains with a robust flavour.
If, instead, you’re looking for a mellow smoke but with enough nic to make your head spin, then yellow rusticas (sultan Albanian, Limonka, yellow 106 & 109, yellow Russian etc) are the plants of choice.
For both hit & nic you can try the black (or blue) rustica strains.
You can find pretty all the tobacco mentioned above at www.northwoodseeds.com that also provides useful information on many strains.
