Today I started back rolling after a few months.
I made my setup and saw that my chaveta and tuck cutter are rusted. This didn't supprise me, I live 200 m form the sea.
Is there some oil that I could rub on that leaves no taste ?
I rolled 5 52 gauge cigars with Dom seco, Hon viso and Nica ligero in no time.
I was supprised how good it turned out after a while no rolling.

Just keep edible oil on the blade, that should prevent the rust.

Any cooking oil can be wiped over the clean blades, then wiped off. Olive oil leaves an aroma, and oxidizes (gets rancid) faster than canola or corn oil. If you can purchase a non-stick cooking spray with canola (PAM with canola), it distributes well into scratch marks, and wipes off easily. Mineral oil also works, and is non-toxic.

For storing the steel items long-term, wrap them snugly in paper that is sprayed with mineral oil.

Moscca you got me looking at my chaveta today. It had some rust on it to. I took it to a wire wheel to clean it up real good, then used a buffing wheel with wax ,that i use to polish my pipes with. It cleaned it up and I will see if the wax protects it for a while. Maybe a coat of carnauba wax in the future will help. Thanks for motivating me to do it.
