How long does it take for the forum to load on your computer? I was away from my computer recently and wanted to check the forum from another computer. The load time was ridiculously long and I just want to make sure it was the computer and not the server.

Please tell me how long it takes to load the forum on your computer and what connection you're using (dial up, DSL, Cable etc.)

Thank you,
Don

About a second or two with my DSL line. Even a thread with pictures are usually under 4 seconds. Text based pages are very quick unless there is heavy traffic on the site or many users using my provider in my area.

Waiting for it to come down my road is killing me.

Oh, sorry, just wanted to give you some idea. I live in the absolute middle of nowhere, rural agrarian wilderness, and prayed for something better than bad crappy dialup, I mean our regular phone calls were almost unintelligible, popping and screeching. For some unknown reason, they brought in fiber, first and only in my county, as a test bed. It truly was a freaking miracle, and about the only good thing that has happened in years. I still think it was an act of god.

I do apologize for the pain, and know better than anyone how frustrating it can be, ten years of my life at 24kbs speeds with screeching static, 12 minute MB downloads. I damn near dug the damn trench to the house for them, the run up my drive way was 990 feet. Hoping they bring it to you soon! I do feel your pain! If it makes you feel better, yes I have fiber, but I am losing my hair and have a smaller than average! :(

My connection uses neutrinos. It's Swiss made. A page of the forum is sometimes downloaded before I request it. On a couple of occasions, a post downloaded a little bit before its author had written it. That can be frustrating, when I want to reply to a post that's not posted yet. But all in all, it's an OK experience.

Nope, your server seems fine. I may get a lag once in a great while for who knows what reason. Otherwise it is like changing channels on television.

Bob if course is watching next seasons programs.

It generally takes 4 to 5 seconds here on my high speed connection.

But then the info has to travel quite a distance from Don's to my patch....!
