My growth this year is Virginia gold. I have 200 seedlings, but I'm happy with anything over 150. I will plant as much as the prepared ground will allow. Currently the temperatures do not allow for planting tobacco seedlings (or anything ), but it seems that next week the weather will improve.
These are my plants, I know they are a bit crowded, but I decided not to cut them anymore, anyway in a few days they will be in the garden.

I managed to plant tobacco on May 15 and 16. Again soil with large bulbs. Today I replaced some plants that fell prey to snails or other bugs that like to gnaw the leaves of the seedlings. I had 7 spare plants, exactly 7 plants have were destroyed. From now on, whoever dies will leave an empty place in the garden.

I am leaning towards earwigs in my garden! I looked one night after not checking the mail earlier due to rain, and I found one eating a strawberry! All my sunflowers, honeydew melons, and okra are gone too! Everything else is doing fine, but the lowest 2 branches on my biggest tomato plant were broken off those morning. The plant itself seems fine, so I am trying to root about 6 cuttings, the smallest of which are about 6" long! I hope it works!

After two weeks, the plants look pretty good. Unfortunately, the lack of rain is starting to be a problem. Just like last year, I commute once every two days to generously distribute a cup of water to each plant.

After three weeks in the ground, a good rain finally came, the plants seem quite happy. It seems that they have started to grow. I wish them to grow big.

A few plants show the attack of some viruses, a few others show the signs of "food" deficiencies. I knew this would happen, I always have a few sick plants, but overall the growth looks good.

After two weeks of rain, the plants look quite weak; lack of nutrients, diseases caused by viruses, infestation with aphids, some were knocked down by the winds. Although today is a day of rest, I went to work; I broke all the suckers I saw, topping a little early (the flower was formed, the stem elongated, but no open flower, I appreciate that it took another 5-6 days for the flowers to open). I sprayed a foliar fertilizer (quite diluted) combined with an insecticide. I expect that in a week I will see some changes for the better because now it looks pathetic.
