Figuring it out

Greetings!
I've been lurking here for the last couple of months and have gotten a lot of good info, thank you everybody! I'm fairly new to tobacco, and am coming at it from a plant medicine angle. Even considering tobacco as a healing plant has taken some getting used to, but through a lot of research and personal experience, I've arrived at a place where I get it, at least at some level.
I have been growing around 10 Nicotiana Rustica plants through the summer and they are doing well. They're taller than me and the largest leaves are two feet long, one foot wide. It's been pretty fun watching them do their thing. The hummingbirds are fans!
I've been trying to wrap my mind around the process of color curing, curing and fermenting. I've read through numerous kiln builds on this forum, and have tried some different experiments to see if I can get something simple working before I harvest all the leaves. I tried a mini-fridge and learned that the coolant goes through the freezer tray and removing the coolant is illegal (interesting!), so I can't quite make it big enough. I tried a cooler with a small skillet over the last couple of days, but got it too hot and melted the inside. I've read through the exo-, endo- and invertebrate kiln builds and will likely build the invertebrate one because of simplicity and the positive feedback on the thread. Right now I'm trying to head up and humidify a shed, but that doesn't seem like a great idea long term due to damage to walls and materials in there.
I just saw ChinaVodoo's thread on carrottes, and that's actually more what I'd like to do, if possible. I've purchased mapacho a couple times and it arrives as a bundle like that, wrapped in rope, and I've had a hard time researching how that was made. Super cool to accidentally run into his video and the leads from that thread.
Thanks again, I look forward to learning more!
