Welcome to the forum. Your English is fine. It's actually better than some native born Americans and Englishmen. Keep posting, we will either figure it out or ask questions. It will help improve your English. I have noticed this with other foreign born members.

Do you plan to grow your own tobacco? If you want to buy tobacco to make your own blends, this forum was founded by the man that owns www.wholeleaftobacco.com. He sells some good leaf. There are good threads here about making your own pipe blends from whole leaf tobacco, and how to make your own Perique and Cavendish.

Nice to see you "Sid" the members here in FTT have a lot of different nationalities and I can tell you are not alone to not speak English.

Thank you Gentlemen! As for the tobacco here in Greece due to the Law restrictions and Taxes the pipe smokers have a huge problem.Every order from another country means a risk to pay a huge fine as a penalty, the Customs have us under their sights.
By the way is there a topic like: "what are you smoking now?" where the members post the name of the tobacco that they puff? Sometimes helps a lot to learn the name of a new tobacco.

That is a great idea. I think the only ones now are for home rolled cigars. You can start one under the "Pipe Smokers Forum". http://fairtradetobacco.com/forums/49-Pipe-Smokers-Forum

In many countries, whole leaf tobacco (still has the main stem in it) is considered an agricultural product and is treated and taxed differently than tobacco that has been processed. Look into it, you may be able to order whole leaf and process it yourself at home to make your own blends.

The majority of US stores don't send tobacco to Greece because they know the risk,to be honest we have found some ways to order tobacco but we never say details in public because it's forbidden by the rules of the forum. We produce Virginia and Orientals here even cigars but the government does not help the farmers.Everybody politician now became "hygienist" and suddenly cares for our health.I know that some members in Greece make their own blends,i have two of them....me, i am just making some experiments for example i add some Black Cavendish or Syrian-Cyprian Latakia to some other tobaccos.
In the future i will search to order whole leaf but first i have to make some email arrangements with the store owner, thank you a lot for the idea!

Teaching yourself a new hobby or skill is like reading a book about swimming. Sooner or later you're just going to have to jump in and get your feet wet.
