Hi everyone,

I am a new member from northern Nevada, not too far from Reno, Carson City, and Lake Tahoe.

I am interested in learning how to grow tobacco. My goal for 2020 is to see the seeds germinate and eventually transplant them outside.

Anyone else here from northern Nevada?

Welcome. Newly germinated seed will require 6 to 8 weeks indoors, and for leaf production, will require an additional 60+ days. Another 3 to 6 weeks for making seed. If your September weather is compatible, then you may find some success.

I have thumbed through (page-down'ed through?) the FAQ here and other FAQs elsewhere. The text I read makes sense but since I don't have the experience of working with tobacco I miss the context. I'm sure I'll have a lot of, "Oh, that's what they meant!" moments.
