Dear all, hello!

First, sorry for my grammmar mistakes, english is not my first language!

My name is Pedro, I'm 21 and currently live in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

I am a International affairs student and am working on my graduation project. My idea is to make a Global Value Chain study on tobacco production and, since there are no websites like this in portuguese, I'm using this.

As have no idea on anything about tobacco, I'm most probably posting a lot in the next year and half.

I don't know if I can ask questions here (sorry admin)! But I'll do it any way haha

- My first quention is about the tobacco curing: I know there is a load of different tobacco species and that each species go beter with pipe, cigar or cigarett. But is there a difference on the time that you cure the tobacco? Like, when I'm curing a Burley, when I want it for cigarett i cure it for x time, but for pipe is better x/2 time. Or it depends on taste? Or time doesn't change the taste aspect?

If you want to contact me by email: **********@*******
Thank you all!

Welcome to FTT Pedro. If i recall correctly, there is at least one member from a portuguese speaking country. If you take time and read trough the various threads in the forum , you'll find answers to most of your questions.

The information compiled here involved 10's of thousands of hours of research and trial and error from hundreds of members over the course of at least five years. Many members were involved in tobacco before this forum was even created. There is no way to summarize all of the tobacco types and curing methods per use.

I recommend starting your research here. http://fairtradetobacco.com/forums/6-Types-of-Tobacco-(Growers-forum)

Good luck and welcome to the forum

Welcome to FTT. You have several messages out here since you posted. I highly recommend FmGrowit's post as a read. As he has said, there are thousands of hours of research, and trial and error on here. Feel free to ask questions.
