I just found this forum, tonight. I have already found Don, Fmgrowit, and hope to see many other old friends.
I have grown tobacco on and off since 2009. I grow tobacco for cigarette use, only.

I also enjoy gardening, cooking, honeybeekeeping, dairy goats, chickens, hunting, fishing, and various outdoor sports.

I also like seed swaps and taste swaps of other folks tobaccos.

Thanks for the welcome. Hmm? Can you help me get my photo to display? It should be small enough, I got it from another forum, where it had to be small. I double checked the profile info and see no reason it isn't showing.

I start out growing every year. Some years it just doesn't get to the garden. It hasn't gotten to the garden as of yet. But the plants are taking off better this year than in some past years.
I have Virginia Gold needing to get outside badly. And several small pots of Ottoman Hy, Samsun, Silver River, Bursa, and some Sylvestris to balance some of the nicotine in some that might be a bit strong.
But this year is important, I am down to two remaining boxes of tobacco! I mostly use store bought, but I like knowing I have my "stash". Well, the stash is almost history. I haven't tried Virginia Gold, Bursa, or Silver River before although I have heard others talk of them.

I'm growing Bursa and silver river this year also. I think you will like them.

I sent it to you. It is the same one that I have used for years.
This is a pretty site folks. And I don't have to go elsewhere to buy tobacco? How cool is that? Good deal!
I like growing tobacco, saving money etc. I just don't want to grow the amount that would be needed for a year of smoking, and I like to age what I do grow. I never did get into the curing end of things. I grow it, hang it, and box it, when it gets tasty, I shred it and mix it with store bought and smoke it. Nice that I can get whole leaf here.

Thanks for all the many welcomes. I have been poking around a bit. I "thought" that I knew a little about tobacco. Sheesh. I remember being overwhelmed at the other site, many years ago. I spent day and night reading, taking notes etc. And I visited another forum that I don't think exists anymore, yes I was a member there too. But in comparison... I pity the newbie here... they won't sleep for months... and old hands who still want to learn will be here a lot too.
Thanks Don, now I look right!
I will check out the tutorial, I haven't posted a photo in well, in years. I have been noticeably absent or slight in attendance at all forums for a few years. I found facebook and other things and just wandered off. But, time to wander back... you guys are running off and leaving me in the learning curve!:)
