For some time now I have looking for a website that has information on blending pipe tobacco and this site has that plus a whole lot more. It’s really nice to be here and to learn from you folks. I am a pipe smoker and enjoy all types of tobacco in my clays and cobs. I haven’t tried processing whole leaf tobacco (I discovered this website while searching for blending recipes) but feel inspired to give it a try. I hope I haven’t misunderstood the customs regulations governing the importation of whole leaf tobacco from the States to Canada (it seems to good to be true) but this might be the way to go and my cellar needs to be restocked with Virginia. Perhaps I will try my hand, in the future, at growing some plants of my own. Anyhow, thanks for the inspiration and I am happy to be here.

It is not too good to be true on the custom regulations. The reason why there is a personal exemption is due to Ontario and the transportation of tobacco. The ticker is no one in Canada is allowed to sell it but you can buy it from the US. Guarantees the duties are paid. 12 lbs is like 20 to 30 dollars total.

Welcome EH!
Good luck!
I smoke a pipe and have been blending tobacco from WLT for around 18 months, thanks to everyone at this forum.
I smoke a heavy Latakia blend.
These are the baccys I am using right now.
60% Latakia
10% FC VA Red
8% FC VA Bright Leaf
8% FC VA Cad
4% Dark AC
4% Kentucky Burley AC
4% Krumovgrad B2 AC
2% Maryland 609 AC
I smoke around 90 grams a week and It ends up costing around $10 compared to $70 for Canadian pouch.
The bonus isn't just the cost because there is no limit to the blends you can try as you have seen in Bob's book.
