New grower from South Africa.
Grew cigar tobacco for the first time 2012/2013, (think I am the only person in SA to grow cigar tobacco). Got some seeds from Deluxestogie.
Started a bit shaky, neighbors cat knocked down my seed trays, mixing my seedlings. Tobacco looked really well, until a violent storm uprooted a tree and dumped it on my tobacco patch, flattening most of my plants, but reaped, fermented the tobacco, and rolled a few cigars.
Went on a business trip yesterday to Johannesburg and smoked one of my first cigars that I rolled, was a bit wet still and had to puff like mad to keep it burning, BUT, what a nice cigar. blended Pen Red, little Dutch and Flor. Sumatra, wrapper Flor. Sumatra.
The wife ( Being British and they are all full of .....) who was along for the ride even said it smells better than the stuff I buy over the counter ( mostly Villager) and that makes it all worth while.
Just want to thank Bob (Deluxstogie) again for the seeds he supplied me and putting me on the right track to become a self sufficient cigar tobacco grower.
Regards
Ben
