Greetings. I have been brewing mead for over ten years, have experimented with some beekeeping and my goal is to someday own a winery with a small homestead producing my honey and wine as well as an orchard. Now I’m also considering adding tobacco to the list. I smoke cigars and pipes and think it would be another fun venture. Not to mention if I could develop some good cigar blends we could work those in with the winery.

Having just discovered this sight I want to jump in. Is it to late to buy some live plants and plant them in bucket? I would still get all of July and August and most of September before worrying about a frost.

Welcome to FTT.
These are very interesting projects !

It's beginning to be a little late but you can always try to grow a few plants, and see if they have enough time to mature correctly.
The challenge is that the curing will become harder to achieve with low temperatures.

Welcome from south KC area.
Yes, go ahead with some plants. There is somewhat a big learning curve with home-grown tobacco, and even though you'll likely run into difficulties with proper curing, what you gain from a few plants this year will be worth the effort.
