Have been lurking around for a few days researching snuff production. Great site. Was planning on getting a tobacco garden going next season and start experimenting from there but after looking around here a whole leaf tobacco order will be placed in the coming weeks and I can get a good head start.
Open to suggestions on anything that will make a good snuff from the site. Have given up smoking. Currently the cart has mostly selections from the pipe tobacco page and one cigar filler. Not sure how big an order I will do, depends a lot on available funds.

Welcome.
Don't order anything more than eight pounds at a time - otherwise you fall into the GST and/or excise duty trap.

The budget wouldn't stretch that high anyway but thanks for the warning. Hoping to get enough together for 4 or 5 pound so that heat treating isnt to much per pound

Welcome to FTT! :)

I've been making snuff for awhile now and really enjoy it.
Mostly, I use Cigar and Burley varieties for making snuff but have made a few good Virginia based ones as well.
If you like a nice smoky scent, like in a Scotch Snuff, Dark Fired is your friend.
Also, a little Latakia goes a long way in making a nice "campfire" scented snuff.
Keep the ingredients to food grade only and get some sieves for better consistency.

Very helpful. Thanks. I have Latakia in the cart and was wondering if it might be too strong. A whole pound may be too much. I will add a burley and virginia as well.

Welcome to the forum. Look through the Smokeless section of the Index of Key Forum Threads (link at the top of the page).

Thanks. I found that soon after finding the site and read everything snuff related and some of the other ones as well even though oral tobacco holds no appeal.
