Get a shredder.. shred. Buy some cigarette tubes. Get a cigarette injector... inject. Whole Leaf Tobacco sells all three. For ciggies you'll want a shredder with a .8mm cut. Plenty of youtube videos that will show you the actual technique if you still are not sure.

I roll cigs, using whole leaf I started with rolling the leaf tight and slicing it with a knife & cutting-board.
Works ok but slow.
Now i got a cheapo shredder that is both fast & fine.

Good Luck!

Cigs always have Virginia --high sugar content, fixed in the leaf thru flue-curing, is unique to the plant.

In Canada cigarettes are 100% flue cured. That said, the one Canadian flue cured strain I have grown is less sweet than most others I have smoked and grown.

Balancing pH is a matter which is more relevant and has a greater effect to pipe tobacco.

"So just a couple of different Virginia?"

I buy Lemon & Red Virginia for my basic blend.
Add to that the air-dried Burley i grow.
Also got some Kentucky (for a Drum style smoke) and some Maryland (for an American style stinker).
Virginia is the base starting point.

Back in the '70s, a Dutch girl showed me the way to roll i still use now, like second nature.
Gummy side facing out, with a light touch gently rock the tabac between thumbs & indexes, fold in and roll.
Remember, gummy side facing out.
Use a thick paper to start, like Vogue. You'll want a horse-blanket to start.
Good Luck!

I like all virginia tobaccos the old red to me is like a bitter but a small amount accents the flavour of the lemon. I am smoking The orangey red and the older lemon there is a difference from the newer lemon. to the lemon from last year. I love it all and that Is the problem. From the last 5 years would love 10 lbs of all of it.

Unless you want to make it really difficult, you'll have the paper with the gum facing you (in)...

Also, while .8mm shred is ok, I have a .7mm shredder and I wouldn't want it any thicker...store brought rolling tobacco is approx .5mm.

In my opinion several of the types offered by WLT like the Red Virginia and Lemon are actually pretty good by themselves - omitting any prime leafs you might encounter here and there. I find that the fully matured leaves when cured properly can be some of the finest tobacco you can find..

Scissors, knifes as well as Shredders and even Pasta machines can be utilized to shred the tobacco into ribbon strips. If you are familiar with the culinary arts you can just use the old Chiffonade technique which is just rolling up leaves tightly into tubes that you shave with a sharp knife.

As for rolling by hand - it takes practice and the old simple hand rolling machine helps many even though you can do this with any dollar bill or even a piece of paper.
