I built this plane

This is a Q-200 that I built in 1983 /1984 it was greased lightning. On paper it was a miracle, in real life it was a fast way to get in trouble. I sold it in 1989

Wow! not many can say that. Fine looking plane!

It was capable of 225 mph and had a continental O-200 engine normally 100 hp at 2700 rpm but I ran it at 3200 rpm which was more like 130 hp.

Burt Rutan is an amazing man. I met him in Oshkosh in 1972 or 1973 when he brought in his vari-viggen to the airshow.
