I just read an interesting little book called " The Story of Lucky Strike". It was printed in 1938 . A short little book, it contained some interesting info that I will relate here, for instance:
Lucky Strike tobacco is made up of Virginia Brightleaf, Burley, Maryland and Turkish tobacco.
The tobacco must go though 2 sweats before it goes to the manufacturing plant.
Part of the process they used was to subject the tobacco to UV light because " It tones up the tobacco"
The average cigarette took 10 minutes to smoke.
I nice little book and it can easily be had through Abe Books for about $4.00 delivered!
Randy B... smoke if you got 'em
