Hi Guys ive noticed on one of my Adonis that its developing multiply flower buds/seed heads. Is this normal? And should i remove the ones were suckers normally develop leaving only the main buds and stem.
That's normal. I usually leave the top two leaf axil bud stems (in addition to the large one that creates the "crows foot"), and remove the lower ones, simply to prevent the bagged head from becoming too wide for the bag. (My bags are cut and sewn from fabric that is 30" tall x 24" wide.) If you don't remove the lower axil bud stems, you can end up with 5 or 6 additional bud stems.
Thank you Bob, I was looking at the plant wondering how blooming big would i need to make them bags.
I thought id better ask the question as i didnt want to cock up anything at this late stage. Im using a weaved fleece type material to make the bags, its normally used to place over plants to protect them from frost, and using 'wonder web' to seal the sides (im not sure if its known as wonder web in the stated but its an iron on mesh used for creating hems and turn ups on trousers)
