Stumbled on the board doing my own research earlier this year. Figured I might as well join now that I have one season under my belt growing Nicotinia Tobaccum.. I have grown Nicontinia Rustica for years in order to produce traditional Indian tobacco for ceremonies. I do not partake in this recreational way though like I do with the big tobacco..

Oh I love growing tobacco as much as I love partaking in it.. I do although prefer air dried and flue cured due to my 20+ years worth of cigarette consumption. These days though I do not support the big tobacco companies hence my joining in here to share and learn..

Its been a pleasure learning and reading notes here this far.......Thanks to all who have contributed ...........PeacePipe

Some of this years Tobaccum- Old seeds passed through my Nation/Tribe

Holy crap there Peace Pipe... I rode my Indian Scout right past your house this last June and you never so much as waved howdy!

It was raining hard and miserable, Mighty Mack was under attack by road crews, who had it squeezed to one lane. That lane was steel grate, which is not great to ride a motorcycle on. Couldn't see much cause of thick weather. I honked my horn but you never said boo.

That's alright. We plan to go again next summer. You hear a meep meep bike horn next August, that will be me.

I am sorry webmost. I must have been standing in a cloud of early prime leaf smoke lol.. I have little hearing left so do rip those pipes off if you have not haha..

Oh My- That grate and the bridge are something else and riding it straight through is never fun. My FXLR has a 21 spoke front wheel and those locking teeth between road sections always seem to grab my wheel throwing me for a panic induced sway.. I try too ride up there only when traffic is free of construction

Next year I ll make sure to grow some 6ft Burley by the road.. You probably wont see anyone else up here growing it, at least on the main route to the mack..:)

Right on grgfinney.. We must be pretty close to each other and God :)

I am 20 miles south of the bridge, just North of Petoskey in the Oden area...

Glad to know there is another tobacco growing soul not too far away, I only know a few people here who care to grow

Let me know if you need any seed this winter I've got about 50 different kind, might ride my snowmobile up in a couple months

Thank You! Sounds great, I have only grown Rustica and a very old Tobacum that is resilient and very acclimated to this region.. I also have seeds of both types..Next year I hope to grow a dozen types while learning more about Virginia bright leaf and flue curing.
