Normally dispersed on several bookcases at home, mine are racked up at rest bowl down, and rotated through duty in order. Smoke one, clean one, back of the line. Racks gather dust but pipes don't.

Pipe cleaners and most sealed tobaccos have dedicated file cabinet drawers, opened tobaccos go in the humidor. Another drawer for lighters, flints, fluids and gasses, tampers, cutters, picks, reamers, etc. Matches elsewhere. Sealed commercial good looking tins get stacked or displayed in a barrister. Master log near the jarred & vacuum sealed shredded pipe tobaccos processed from whole leaf, bags of scrap and stem same bookshelf 1 shelf lower.
Now if I could locate the rest of the pipes that are around here, all would be well. For a few days anyways
slight favor of the straight shank in the pipes in the picture: 14 straight vs. 11 bent. Can say that the straights do get smoked more.appears that you favour the straight shank quite a bit.. and where does the calabash fit in

Don't smoke the calabash or churchwarden too often: not really pipes you can walk around with or clench the whole time while using both hands working on something. Used to use the calabash exclusively for esoterica penzance and margate, and think I may be out of those. I like to smoke flakes/cakes in it for some reason.
Feel free to join in any time. The invitation is open to everyone.I know you were asking Tullius about his straight pipes and calabash, but I want to say that I'm only ever going to buy straight pipes in the future. They're just right for me. I wish I realized it sooner in life. My calabash is a once a year thing. Recently, I smoked it because the friend who gave it to me passed away.
Imagine this.... a straight meerschaumFeel free to join in any time. The invitation is open to everyone.
+1 for straight pipes, though I know I will end up with a few more funky bends and possibly a very ornately carved meerschaum.
That sounds like a beautiful way to sit and quietly remember someone.
Put me down for one of those for sure, but I'm really talking about this T-Rex pipe:

Eskisehir Meerschaum
A year and a half ago, I had the opportunity to take a long vacation in Turkey. We began in Antalya, rented a car, and in two weeks were in Istanbul, where we spent another week. The highlight was Eskisehir, the city in the stone and ceramics center of the country which is in close proximity...fairtradetobacco.com
They look great.. Did you have to send them away?I just got ten pipes back from repair. I had many a chewed or broken stem It's like buying ten new pipes at a fraction of the cost!

I brought them to my local tobacconist and they sent them away. The guy who does them is somewhere in Canada. The Brighams came back with actual Brigham stems. Same with the Peterson, which is nice. One is a pipe called an Otomatic Grand Luxe. The replacement stem has a white dot and I thought he used a Dunhill stem, but I googled that pipe and discovered that that brand had single dots too. He must have known. They look great.. Did you have to send them away?
That little short bent stem, fifth from the left, looks really cool. Looks like a nice size bowl for a compact pipe. Actually, the entire collection is nice.I just got ten pipes back from repair. I had many a chewed or broken stem It's like buying ten new pipes at a fraction of the cost!
